Woah! Six-kilogram baby born in Germany

Perhh..kalau nengok baby nie..besarnya..gebusss..tembammnyeee...geram best peluk-peluk...tapi melihat keadaannya rasa kasihan...harapan kita agar si comel nie sihat hendaknya dan membesar sebagai anak-anak lain jugak.. :)

Consultant physician Matthias Knuepfer and nurse My take care of Germany's heaviest newborn until now at the neonatal intensive care ward of the University Hospital in Leipzig, Germany, 29 July 2013. The girl Jasleen was born four days ago weighing extraordinary 6,110 g and measuring 57,5 cm in length. The mother only arrived at the hospital on the day of the birth and suffered from an undiscovered gestational diabetes

Oh baby, this is probably among the biggest of them all.

In Germany, a woman has given birth to the country's largest baby--and it was supposedly via a normal delivery.

The baby named Jasleen, weighs more than six kilograms, and was delivered at the University Hospital in Leipzig, Yahoo! 7 News Australia quoted German site Die Welt as saying.

"At 6.1kg and 57 cm, Jasleen is the biggest-ever German newborn and, even though she remains in the neonatal care unit, mother and baby are doing well," added the report. The baby's mother reportedly had gestational diabetes.

Despite the baby's huge size, Jasleen apparently still isn't the world's biggest. This, as Guinness Book of Records states that a certain Anna Bates gave birth to a boy who weighed 10.8kg in Ohio in 1879. That baby however died hours after birth.
In 2009, a baby with a whopping weight of 19.2 lbs was reportedly born, via Caesarian section, in North Sumatra, Indonesia.

[ Gambar ]: Terapi yang boleh membunuh...hanya di Indonesia

Desperate, sick Indonesians use railroad 'therapy'

ada beran?

eiii..seram ok..bergogar kepala pakcik nie..hishh!

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Ignoring the red-and-white danger sign, Sri Mulyati walks slowly to the train tracks outside Indonesia's bustling capital, lies down and stretches her body across the rails.

Like the nearly dozen others lined up along the track, the 50-year-old diabetes patient has all but given up on doctors and can't afford the expensive medicines they prescribe.

In her mind, she has only one option left: electric therapy.

"I'll keep doing this until I'm completely cured," said Mulyati, twitching visibly as an oncoming passenger train sends an extra rush of current racing through her body.

She leaps from tracks as it approaches and then, after the last carriage rattles slowly by, climbs back into position.

Pseudo-medical treatments are wildly popular in many parts of Asia — where rumors about those miraculously cured after touching a magic stone or eating dung from sacred cows can attract hundreds, sometimes thousands.

That may be especially true in Indonesia, where chronic funding shortages and chaotic decentralization efforts since the 1998 ouster of longtime dictator Suharto have left many disillusioned with the state-sponsored health system, said Marius Widjajarta, chairman of the Indonesian Health Consumers Empowerment Foundation.

Medical experts say there is no evidence lying on the rails does any good.

But Mulyati insists it provides more relief for her symptoms — high-blood pressure, sleeplessness and high cholesterol — than any doctor has since she was first diagnosed with diabetes 13 years ago.

She turned to train track therapy last year after hearing a rumor about an ethnic Chinese man who was partially paralyzed by a stroke going to the tracks to kill himself, but instead finding himself cured.

It's a story that's been told and retold in Indonesia.

Until recently, more than 50 people would show up at the Rawa Buaya tracks every day. But the numbers have dropped since police and the state-run railroad company erected a warning sign and threatened penalties of up to three months in prison or fines of $1,800.

No one has been arrested yet, and none of the participants in train track therapy has died.

But the dedicated dozen a day who still come say they have no plans to stop.

"They told us not to do it anymore, but what else can I do," said Hadi Winoto, a 50-year-old stroke victim who has trouble walking.

"I want to be cured, so I have to come back."

3-year-old boy in China weighs nine stone...

London, March 23 (ANI): A three-year-old boy in China, who weighs nine stone, is giving a tough time to his parents.

Lu Hao is dangerously overweight, and at 9st 6lb is five times as heavy as other boys his age.

He is getting so big his family are frightened of him - and have given up trying to stop the youngster from gorging on huge plates of ribs and rice.

His parents claim he throws vicious tantrums if he doesn't get third or fourth helpings of dinner.

"We have to let him be as if we don't feed him he will cry non-stop," the Sun quoted mum Chen Huan from Dashan, Guangdong Province, as saying.

She said she has tried to cut down his meals in the past, but despite her best efforts he still managed to put on whopping 1.5st in the last year alone.

He has already been banned from nursery over fears his size might be a danger to other children, and usually plays alone at home.

Moving around is becoming tougher and tougher for the toddler, whose weight means he gets out of breath easily.

Ironically when Lu Hao was born he was underweight, at 5.7lbs, but he started piling on the pounds at three months old, and hasn't stopped since.

Dad, Lu Yuncheng, who struggles to pick him up, said: "His appetite is so good that for a meal he can eat three big bowls of rice, even larger than I and his mother." (ANI)

Finale The Biggest Loser Asia Season 3

Raj from Singapore is The Biggest Loser

A mere one kilogram was the difference between winning and losing.

24-year-old Singaporean, Viveganandam Deveraj (Raj) shed a whopping 67 kilograms to win Season 2 of the popular weight-loss reality show, The Biggest Loser Asia.

The Ngee Ann polytechnic graduate and 3D modeler pipped his closest rival Atikom Laksanapanai (Nai) of Thailand by a mere one kilogram in the show’s dramatic final episode taped in front of a live studio audience at MediaCorp Studios on Tuesday.

In so doing, Raj took home US$100,000 in prize money. Genghis Khan Enrique of the Philippines finished third.

Speaking after his moment of victory, Raj told Yahoo! Singapore he drew motivation to work out even harder after nasty comments criticised his gamesmanship during the 13-episode competition.

And despite beating a total of 15 other contestants on the show to claim the top prize, Raj said this was just the start: keeping the weight off, accumulated from years of bad eating habits, was going to be the real challenge.

“Yes, this is a life-changing experience, but it will not be the defining point in my life,” said a startlingly fitter and trimmer Raj.

“The defining point will be the same time next year, at the end of season 3 of The Biggest Loser Asia, when the highlight will be on me once again. Will I still remain trim and fit, or will I put back all the weight I lost?”

“Winning the prize money is definitely a very big cherry on top of this life-changing experience, but it’s not about who wins the Biggest Loser Asia 2 — it’s about taking control of your life. In this case, every other contestant’s a winner as well,” the avid gamer added.

In the showdown finale, Raj weighed in at a trim 77 kilos – a massive 67kg drop from his original 144kg when he started the competition.

Needing to lose at least 64 kilograms to beat Raj’s weight loss percentage, the popular Nai of Thailand could only manage a 63 kilogram loss at the final weigh-in, thereby handing the title to Raj.

“At that moment, I already made peace with myself and if I had lost to Nai, it would mean that he deserved it more than me,” said Raj.

Third-placed contestant, Filipino internet cafe owner Enrique, hopes that his experience on the show will inspire others to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

“I have so many excuses not to exercise. I have diabetes, hypertension, heart problems, back problems and knee problems. I’m a ticking time bomb. But look at me now, I have all the excuses in the world not to take this step, so if I can do it, so can anybody else,” said the man, who himself lost 53 kilos throughout the entire show.

So what does Raj intend to do with his winner’s cheque of US$100,000?

“I want to use some of the money to set up a charity, to help people like me who need help in turning their lives around.”
